Legal aid lawyer in criminal law in Quebec City and Montreal. Do you need legal aid?
We can help people who are eligible to legal aid.
To be entitled to legal aid, you must meet two requirements:
- To be financially entitled for it according to the Legal Aid Act scale;
- The service must be covered by the Legal Aid Act.
For example, the statutory offences provided by the Highway Safety Code are not part of the services covered by legal aid, except under rare circumstances.
We provide quality services to the people we represent under legal aid mandates.
When one of our lawyers agrees to represent a client under a legal aid mandate, he kindly shares his knowledge and makes himself available to the client.
The lawyer does not hesitate to sue or to proceed to sentence hearings when appropriate.
The remuneration of lawyers who accept legal aid mandates
We are private bar lawyers. Therefore, the government pays us when we provide services under the legal aid program.
It is important to know the details regarding applicable legal aid fees for private bar lawyers. It will then be easier for you to understand why a lawyer may choose to refuse legal aid mandates.
Consult the “Fees” section for further details.
